Ages Newborn to 18 Months
Kindermusik Village provides the natural learning environment your infant needs from the earliest days of life. With the parent/caregiver at the center of the baby's discovery, Village engages all the senses and rewards curiosity with object and instrument exploration, vocal play, movement, and balance skills. Activities encourage the parent/caregiver to make creative choices as the child grows from a lap baby to a crawler to a walker. Kindermusik Village stimulates development in every area of the brain during the crucial first 1-1/2 years of life.
Feathers & Do-Si-Do
Experience a wide range of activities which explore our feathered friends and the beauty of autumn. Birds from around the world inspire the songs, dances and poems in this unit. Musical selections include Jazz, Classical, a Yiddish Folk Song, a Muskogean melody and Mother Goose rhymes. You'll see your baby's face light up each week as we start to sing 'Hello Lah". Your baby will relax as we warm up to a Woody Guthrie poem, and enjoy responding to the steady beat activities which follow. Dancing to "Gee, But It's Great To Meet a Friend" and rocking to "In the Shade of the Old Apple Tree" gives your baby time to socialize while developing his vestibular system. Instruments such as shakers, gathering drums, and bells will be enjoyed during the "Kookaburra" and "Duck Dance" play-alongs. Beautiful quiet time music is used each week to teach your baby how to relax. A basket of musical instruments and other manipulatives will await your baby to explore during gathering time each week.
Home materials include: a CD with over 25 specially-selected recordings from class, Kindermusik chimeball, a colorful picture book of birds, Feathers, and a set of Art Banners for the nursery wall that strengthens vision and promotes early literacy.
Tuition and materials for a 14-week semester: $220
(a minimum $60 deposit is due at registration with balance due by Class #1)
